The 3 Pillars of PCA
Three Pillars
Christian Worldview
We provide a biblically-based education that teaches students to utilize the scriptures as a lens through which to view the world. This commitment to a biblical worldview is exhibited in our hiring practices, as we seek to hire not only the most talented and qualified personnel, but those that possess an active and dynamic walk with the Lord. It is also apparent in our curriculum and instructional practices, as biblical integration is an essential component of our program, across all grade levels and academic disciplines.
Further, through intentional programming, we provide regular opportunities for our students to experience the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit on our campus. This takes many forms – weekly chapels and worship, weekly community prayer time, a prayer group for parents, scripture memorization, advisory programming, grade-level service projects, annual service programming, daily faculty devotion, daily student devotions, Bible classes, daily prayer at dismissal, and so many more. Quite simply put, the commitment to a Christian worldview is unassumingly pervasive in our community – it influences everything that we do. It is our ultimate goal to help that become a reality for each and every one of our students.
Classical Education
Classical education is built on the trivium, a three-phase model that reflects the natural development of a child’s mind: grammar, logic, and rhetoric. In the grammar stage, which typically spans the elementary years, students focus on absorbing facts and foundational knowledge across all subjects. These years are devoted to building the raw material of learning—dates, vocabulary, formulas, stories, and truths—that will later be analyzed and articulated. Children at this age are especially receptive to memorization and repetition, and classical education embraces this God-designed readiness by grounding students in a rich and ordered body of knowledge.
As students move into the middle grades, they enter the logic stage, where they begin to ask why and how. Having accumulated a storehouse of facts, students are now taught to examine relationships, evaluate arguments, and think critically about what they have learned. In the high school years, students reach the rhetoric stage, where they learn to express ideas clearly, persuasively, and with confidence. At this stage, students synthesize knowledge and reasoning into thoughtful communication—both written and spoken—demonstrating wisdom, eloquence, and discernment. Together, these three phases form a cohesive and intentional approach to education that trains students not just what to think, but how to think and communicate truth well.

Parent Involvement
Parent Involvement is the third pillar of the Providence Christian Academy experience because students thrive when school and home walk in partnership. Parents are not just supporters from the sidelines—they are essential partners in shaping a Christ-centered, classical education. Through meaningful involvement and shared fellowship, families strengthen the PCA community, enrich the learning environment for students, and provide encouragement and support for teachers and staff. When parents are engaged, the entire school benefits from a deeper sense of unity, purpose, and shared mission.
