School Counseling

The Providence Christian Academy counseling team is committed to helping students develop their God given potential academically, behaviorally, emotionally, mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually.

The Counseling Department at Providence Christian Academy partners with the PCA faculty, administration, and parent community to ensure that each student is supported academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually during his/her experience at PCA. It is our desire to address the needs of all students by providing a safe counseling environment and resources that will assist students and families beyond the school day. Individual and/or group support, college and career counseling, and parent education are coordinated through this department.

Courtney Rivers

Courtney Rivers serves as the Lower School Counselor. She brings a passion for walking alongside students as they grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Courtney earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Liberty University and her Master of Social Work from Spring Arbor University.

At PCA, she provides individual counseling, small groups, and whole-class lessons, helping students build resilience, confidence, and healthy relationships through a Biblical lens. She is passionate about equipping students with the tools to self-advocate and navigate challenges with courage and clarity. Courtney is particularly drawn to the elementary years, believing that strong social-emotional foundations in these formative stages help shape a child’s sense of identity, purpose, and connection for years to come.

Originally from Metro Detroit, Michigan (Go Lions!), Courtney now calls Tennessee home. Outside of school, she enjoys running as a way to recharge and reflect, experiencing the energy of live music, and traveling to new places to explore culture and God’s creation.

What Courtney values most about being part of the PCA community is the ability to integrate faith with care, pointing students toward truth and hope in Christ through every season of life.

Logic Counseling

The Logic School years are a time for students to gain autonomy and start to figure out who they are and how they fit into the world around them. Friendships become more important than ever during this phase and because middle schoolers are often honing in on social norms, they can sometimes unintentionally step on each other's toes. They also have many biological changes that can confound these experiences. Logic School counseling strives to offer a safe, confidential place to work through these feelings, develop good communication skills, and offer solutions for restored relationships with peers and others. The goal of helping them be confident in who God made them to be and seeking His wisdom in all situations is at the foundation of all counseling sessions. In the School of Logic we want to ensure all students feel safe, loved, and important while here at school. We want to help them build their social and emotional wings so they can use their God-given talents and abilities to follow the path the Lord has for them in the years to come as they spread those wings and fly.
