“Our mission is to teach students to seek God’s truth and to equip them with the tools for a lifetime of learning.”
Everything in our spiritual life- chapel, retreats, discipleship, worship, prayer, and community- flows out of this mission, shaping students who not only seek God’s truth, but love, and follow Jesus with their whole lives.
A Letter from the Director of Spiritual Formation:
Dear PCA Families,
Welcome to the heart of Providence Christian Academy- our life in Christ. When I think about PCA, I can’t help but think of one of my favorite quotes by Dutch theologian Abraham Kuyper who said, “There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, Mine!”
PCA belongs to Christ. Our students belong to Christ. Our faculty and families belong to Christ. This is His school, and His Spirit is undeniably evident in this place. I sensed this truth the first time I stepped foot on campus in April of 2007. I came to interview for a teaching job and never looked back! After all these years I can say the same thing: PCA has always been and continues to be God’s school.
Here, spiritual formation isn’t something we schedule once a week. It is the reason we exist in the first place; it’s God’s Word and God’s presence woven into the fabric of our days- through chapel, retreats, discipleship, prayer, worship, biblical integration and worldview, and the countless little moments when God reminds us of His presence.
As a former PCA teacher, a parent of three PCA alumni, and now as your Director of Spiritual Formation, it brings me great joy to watch students with restless hearts find their rest in God. I have seen God use rhythms of worship and community to encourage students when they are weary, to deepen friendships, to awaken faith, and to equip young men and women to seek God’s truth and to live boldly for Christ in a world that needs His truth and light.
My prayer is that every student at PCA knows they are not running this race alone. They are surrounded by teachers who care deeply for their souls, by parents who faithfully pray, and by classmates who walk alongside them as brothers and sisters in Christ. Together, we seek God’s truth, we lift high the name of Jesus, and we prepare the next generation to live for Him with courage, wisdom, and joy.
I am grateful to walk this journey with you.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10
With love in Christ,

Cultivating Christ-Centered Community
Every Wednesday, our entire school community- students, parents, faculty, and staff- gathers for Chapel, a cherished time set apart for worship, the Word, and fellowship. Chapel is a vibrant expression of our unity in Christ, where generations come together to sing praises, hear biblical teaching, celebrate God’s work among us, and reflect on His truth.
Rooted in Scripture and centered on the gospel, Chapel is the heartbeat of our spiritual life at PCA- shaping hearts and minds to follow Jesus and live for His glory.
Once a year, our Logic and Rhetoric students step away from the classroom for a dedicated time of spiritual growth, friendship, and adventure. Through worship, biblical teaching, and reflection, students are challenged to deepen their walk with Christ and build meaningful connections with one another.
Balanced with laughter, games, and team-building activities, these retreats leave students with lasting memories and a stronger sense of belonging to a family of faith, reminding them that following Jesus is a shared journey.
Our Discipleship Program pairs students with a faculty mentor for one hour each week to read through the Gospel of John, pray together, and explore the life of Jesus. These one-on-one meetings encourage students to run their race of faith side by side, offering strength and accountability along the way.
Key Elements:
Multiplication of Faith: Inspiring students to become spiritual leaders who help others follow Jesus
Weekly One-on-One Meetings: One hour each week with a faculty mentor on campus
Scripture-Based Study: Reading through the Gospel of John to discover the life and teachings of Jesus
Personalized Spiritual Growth: Prayer, discussion, and encouragement tailored to each student’s walk with Christ
Faith in Action: Equipping students to lead and disciple their peers
Throughout the year, students gather for evenings set apart to worship the Lord together. Led largely by peers, Worship Nights create a space where the PCA community can pause from the busyness of life and focus hearts on Christ. These nights are marked by praise, prayer, and a fresh encounter with God’s presence.
Each week begins with prayer on campus. Students, faculty, and staff pause to commit the week to the Lord, seeking His guidance, blessing, and strength. This rhythm reminds us that all we do at PCA flows out of reliance on Christ.

PCA athletes gather regularly through FCA to encourage one another to live boldly for Christ on and off the field. Through Scripture study, testimonies, and prayer, FCA helps athletes see their sport as a platform for leadership, faith, and service.
Beyond practice and competition, PCA sports teams often gather for Bible study and prayer. These team-based studies strengthen both faith and unity, building bonds that carry onto the field and into everyday life. Together, teammates learn what it means to glorify God in all they do.
Made in the Image of God
We affirm the biblical truth that every person is created in the Imago Dei- the image of God (Genesis 1:27). This means every life has inherent worth, dignity, and purpose, regardless of ability, appearance, or achievement. We value each individual as a reflection of the beauty, creativity, and wisdom of the Creator. God’s intentional design in human existence speaks to His care for every detail of our lives, and we desire to see each person flourish in the fullness of who He created them to be. This belief shapes how we treat one another, how we engage our community, and how we pursue education, not merely for knowledge, but for the formation of hearts and minds in the likeness of Christ.
Unity in the Body of Christ
At Providence Christian Academy, we believe that the Church is one body, united under the headship of Jesus Christ. This unity transcends differences in background, personality, culture, and gifting, because our identity is first and foremost in Him. As members of one body, we are called to “be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2). We strive to live in such a way that honors the truth that when one member rejoices, we all rejoice, and when one member suffers, we all share in their burden. This unity is not uniformity. It is a beautiful diversity knit together by the Spirit of God for the glory of God.
Our Calling at PCA
Because we are one body and bear the image of God, our desire at PCA is to foster an environment where students, faculty, and families live in unity, speak life, pursue truth, and love one another deeply. We seek to prepare students to live out their God-given calling, contributing to the flourishing of others and the advancement of God’s Kingdom in every sphere of life.
