August 10 – 12, 2025

2:00 PM – 12:30 PM

Rhetoric Retreat

We will meet at PCA at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 10, and return to campus around 12:30pm on Tuesday, August 12. Rhetoric classes will not meet on Wednesday, August 13, to allow for rest and time with family.  Classes will resume on Thursday.

  • Cost - The cost of the retreat is covered by tuition.
  • Food - All meals are provided during the retreat; however, students are welcome to bring some snacks to enjoy throughout the day and in the evenings.  Known food allergies have been given to the camp, but students with significant limitations may want to bring food that meets their needs. We will have a refrigerator and freezer available to store foods needed to accommodate specific needs.
  • Attendance - As this is part of our scheduled program, attendance is required.
  • What to bring - See the link for a suggested packing list.
  • Barefoot Republic Waiver - Print and sign the camp waiver. Return it to your child's advisor by Wednesday, August 6. Printed copies of the waiver are available in the rhetoric office.
  • Activities - Worship, small group time, teaching, quiet time, open recreation, wiffleball, sand volleyball, pickleball, disc golf, bouldering, art, giant swing, zip line, swimming, campfires, family games, and more!
  • No Phone policy - To encourage students connecting with with each other and diving into God's word, we prefer that cell phones be left at home. If you are more comfortable with your child bringing their phone to camp, please know that it will be collected by your child's advisors and held until cabin time in the evening. Your child can have a quick check in with you before returning the phone to their advisors.
  • Bible, journal, and pen - These will help your student engage fully in our time at camp.
